Two French journalists detained by Pakistani authorities on charges of violating their visa restrictions have called off their hunger strike, their lawyer said on Monday.

"The detained journalists have ended their hunger strike on the advice of the French diplomatic authorities, their own magazine's (L'Express) management and myself," lawyer Nafees Siddiqui said. He had earlier said that L'Express magazine reporter Marc Epstein and photographer Jean-Paul Guilloteau planned to go on hunger strike to protest at their arrest last week.
